Terms
By using Cubbycheck you agree to these terms. They’re short on purpose.
What Cubbycheck is
Cubbycheck republishes childcare inspection records that state agencies publish, currently Texas HHSC and California CCLD, with plain-English labels. The methodology explains how we map each state’s levels. Findings keep the state’s own wording.
What it isn’t
- It isn’t a safety rating, an endorsement or a recommendation of any daycare.
- Fewer findings don’t prove safer care, and missing information isn’t a negative mark.
- It isn’t an emergency service. If a child is in danger, call 911.
Accuracy
We copy records faithfully and update them daily, but states can publish late, make errors or change records. The state’s own record is the official one. To correct a finding, contact the state agency; our page changes after the state’s data does. See requesting a correction.
Alerts
Alerts arrive after a state publishes, often days or weeks after a visit, and we can’t promise every change will be caught or delivered. Check the daycare’s page and the state record before relying on it. You can stop alerts at any time with one click.
Your account
- An account is for one person. Keep access to your email secure, since sign-in links go there.
- Your notes and lists are yours. See the privacy policy for how we handle them.
- You can delete your account at any time from Account.
Fair use
Don’t use Cubbycheck to harass anyone, create accounts in bulk, overload the site, or copy it wholesale. The underlying state records are public and remain free to use from their original sources.
Liability
Cubbycheck is provided as it is, without warranties. To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for decisions made using the site or for losses from errors, delays or interruptions.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date above, and tell account holders by email about changes that matter. Questions: hello@cubbycheck.com.
