California daycare inspection records

How California grades a finding

California cites on two levels. A Type A citation is an immediate risk to the health, safety or personal rights of children in care. A Type B citation is one that may become an immediate risk if not corrected, from records and postings to supervision and background checks. Type A maps to Critical; Type B maps to Minor, or Serious when the section cited bears on supervision, ratios, background checks or hazards. California publishes the type inside each inspection report, so a citation shows as “cited” until we have read its report. The full mapping and the badge rule.
