Based on analyst observation, the facility did not comply with the section cited above as when analyst arrived in the infant classroom a teacher and aide were supervising nine children putting them out of the regulation required 1:4 staff to infant ratio which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to infants in care.

The deficiency was corrected when a usually supporting infant teacher, who was covering for a teacher position in the preschool program, was able to return to the infant classroom when the preschool classes returned to their proper ratio. Violation cited as a Type B one as all infants' needs appeared to have been met during time classroom was not in proper ratio. Director understands that sufficient staff must be present at all times, via program floaters or substitute staffing progratms, to ensure teacher/child ratios are being met. Director advised analyst she is also in the process of interviewing and hiring as many as two additional staff members to help meet the requirement.
