Level for water lead testing resulting with values of 5.5 ppb or greater for the kitchen sink. Water testing results identified with Action Level Exceedance (ALE) as defined in WD section 101700.3. are not deemed safe to drink. Based on record review, the Lic. did not comply with the above directive; the kitchen sink tested with ALE. This poses as a potential Health and Safety risk to children in care.
A correction plan is recorded. No state verification date is shown.
Recorded plan of correction
The facility made the ALE affected outlet out of service and posted appropriate signage. Staff said the sink was replaced. The fixture was retested by a certified water sampler and a follow-up water sample taken following the protocol outlined in Written Directives, Section 101705. Staff further said children in care do not use the kitchen sink and are given alternative potable water, by using water coolers. Staff said parents will be notified of the lead exceedances via email and/or letter. The outlet was retested on 05/10/2023 to have no lead concentration above the appropriate level. This deficiency has been cleared.

Your tour, better prepared
Questions built from this daycare’s inspection record, plus the practical ones every tour should cover. Tick them off and note the answers as you go.
State records and provider information have separate sources. Provider claims do not establish independently verified care quality. Missing data is not evidence of an issue-free record.
